More English Language Resources Online

In English class we are in the middle of a unit on the different vowel sounds within the English language. We are trying to emphasize the the individual sounds that each vowel has in order to improve the students phonics skills.

Here are some more english language resources that students can use when they are at home.

ESL Galaxy at http://www.esl-galaxy.com/ This website include games, worksheets, vocabulary exercises and grammar problems for students of all ages.

Room 108 http://www.netrover.com/~kingskid/108.html This website includes a variety of activities on all subjects and is designed for kids. There are a number of english based games that can go a long way in making learning english fun and enjoyable for the students here at Ain Aar

MES Games http://www.marks-english-school.com/games.html This has some great games that will help students learn vocabulary, tenses and other elements of the english language via flash based web games.

If anybody has any questions on these resources or is having difficulty accessing the websites please post it as a comment or email me at jcolvin@ic.edu.lb

Here is a video about the environment that kids may enjoy. Its tells the story of stuff, from where stuff comes from to what we use it for, to where it goes when we throw it away.

One last site that kids will enjoy is from the Discovery Channel. There is lots of multimedia related to science and animals at this website http://kids.discovery.com/

Welcome to the IC English as a 3rd language Blog!

My name is Josh Colvin. I am one of the English teachers as a 3rd Language Department at the Ain Aar campus of IC.
This blog is intended to be a resource for parents and students looking to improve their child's english skills. I will be posting websites resources, videos, games, and news from the classroom that will help your students learn the English Language.
I want to provide a place parents can visit to advise them on place their children can go online to improve their English and have fun at the same time.
A blog is meant to be a two way communication tool so I encourage parents, other teachers and students to get on this blog and post their ideas, comments, links, and suggestions for ways we can improve our English here in the IC community.
